    What is VAPT?

Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) is a comprehensive security testing methodology that combines two distinct approaches to identify and validate security weaknesses in an organisation's infrastructure.

    Vulnerability Assessment

A vulnerability assessment is a systematic review of security weaknesses in an information system. It evaluates if the system is susceptible to any known vulnerabilities, assigns severity levels to those vulnerabilities, and recommends remediation or mitigation.

    Penetration Testing

Penetration testing goes a step further by actively exploiting discovered vulnerabilities to determine what information or access can actually be gained. This simulates real-world attack scenarios.

    Why VAPT Matters

Organisations face an ever-growing landscape of cyber threats. VAPT helps by:

    • Identifying vulnerabilities before attackers do
    • Validating security controls to ensure they work as intended
    • Meeting compliance requirements such as PCI DSS or your own industry's requirements
    • Reducing risk by providing actionable remediation guidance
    • Building stakeholder confidence in your security posture

    The VAPT Process

    1. Scoping — Define the target systems and testing boundaries
    2. Reconnaissance — Gather information about the target environment
    3. Vulnerability Scanning — Use automated tools to identify known vulnerabilities
    4. Manual Testing — Skilled testers attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
    5. Reporting — Document findings with severity ratings and remediation steps
    6. Remediation Support — Assist teams in fixing identified issues

How Often Should You Conduct VAPT?

We recommend conducting VAPT at least quarterly, and additionally after any major infrastructure changes, application deployments, or security incidents.
